Farmington is a small place in Belmont County, Ohio. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
History of Farmington
Farmington was started a long time ago, in the year 1818. People decided to create this community back then.
For a while, Farmington had a different name. It used to be called Cope. There was even a post office named Cope. This post office opened in 1874. It helped people send and receive mail. The Cope post office stayed open for many years. It finally closed down in 1895.
