The Story of Faust

The community of Faust was started by a man named Henry J. Faust. He was born Heinrich Jacob Faust in Germany and later became a Mormon immigrant to the United States.

In 1860, Henry Faust was in charge of a place called Faust Station. This station was an important stop on the famous Pony Express trail. The Pony Express was a special mail service that used riders on horses to deliver letters very quickly across the country.

Later, Henry Faust bought the land where the station was located. He turned it into his own ranch. In 1870, Henry Faust and his wife moved to Salt Lake City.

Faust's Connections

Over the years, Faust has been used by the Union Pacific Railroad. This big railroad company used the area to house workers who were building or maintaining train lines.

Henry J. Faust is also known as an ancestor of James E. Faust. James E. Faust was a well-known leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
