Federico Coullaut-Valera Mendigutia facts for kids
Federico Coullaut-Valera (born 1912, died 1989) was a famous Spanish sculptor. He was born in Madrid, Spain. His father, Lorenzo Coullaut-Valera, was also a well-known sculptor.
Federico continued a big project his father started in a famous square called Plaza de España in Madrid. He finished this important monument between 1956 and 1957.
One of his statues, of Charles III of Spain, is in Olvera Street in Los Angeles, USA. This statue was given as a gift in 1976. Later, King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain officially opened it in 1987. King Charles III was important because he ordered the start of the town that grew into Los Angeles.
