Life of Felix Timmermans
Felix Timmermans was born in the Belgian city of Lier. He was the thirteenth of fourteen children in his family. He passed away in Lier when he was 60 years old.
Felix was mostly self-taught, meaning he learned a lot on his own. He wrote many different kinds of stories. These included plays for the stage, historical novels, and religious books. He also wrote beautiful poems.
His most famous book is Pallieter, which came out in 1916. Felix Timmermans also used a special pen-name, which was Polleke van Mher. Besides writing, he was also a talented painter and drawer.
During the early years of World War II, Felix Timmermans was involved with a group for writers. He also received an award called the Rembrandt prize in 1942. Because of these actions during the war, some people thought he was working with the wrong side. This caused him a lot of stress and might have made him sick, leading to his early death.
