Fermín IV Caballero Elizondo (born December 22, 1974) is a famous Mexican rapper and a pastor. He is well-known for being a member of the Mexican hip hop group called Control Machete.
Fermín IV has won several awards for his music. As part of Control Machete, he was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in 2000. Their album "Mucho Barato" also sold a lot of copies, earning a special award called a platinum RIAA certification. Later, as a solo artist, he won the Arpa Awards twice, in 2003 and 2018, for "Best Urban Album."

About Fermín IV
Fermín IV was born in Monterrey, a city in Nuevo León, Mexico. He has become a very important artist in Mexican hip hop. He was the main singer for Control Machete. He was also a key person in a music movement from the 1990s called "Avanzada regia."
In the early 1990s, Fermín IV was in a local rock band. It was called Prófuga de Metate. He then met Toy Selectah, also known as DJ Toy. Toy was experimenting with a drum machine and samples. These are sounds often used in hip hop music. Fermín became very interested in making rap music. He recorded a song called "Siempre Peligroso." This song became very popular in Latin America.
His Music Journey
In 1996, Toy Selectah created the group Control Machete. Fermín IV and Patricio Elizalde joined him. As a trio, they released their first album in 1997. It was named Mucho Barato. The song "Comprendes Mendes" from this album was very popular. After that, they released another album called Artillería Pesada Presenta. This album included the song "Sí Señor." This track was nominated for "Best Rock Song" at the Latin Grammy Awards in 2000.
After his time with Control Machete, Fermín IV performed with many famous artists. These included U2, Eminem, and David Bowie. He went on many tours across America and Europe. Fermín left Control Machete in 2000. His last song with the group was "De Perros Amores." This song was part of the soundtrack for the movie Amores perros. This movie was nominated for an Oscar Award.
Fermín then started his solo career. His first solo album was called Boomerang. It won an Arpa Award for "Best Art Design." It also won for "Best Rock or Alternative Album."
Music and Faith
Fermín IV also helped with music for the Semilla de Mostaza church. He is now a pastor there. He worked on their albums "Semilla de Mostaza Presenta" in 2001 and "Gracias" in 2003. He also helped with a live album called "Concierto en Vivo Desde Monterrey" in 2003.
Later, he released more of his own music. In 2004, he released a live album called Fermín IV En Vivo. In 2005, he released a studio album called Los que Trastornan al mundo. He also released a group album called Hip Hop por la vida and a collection album called Dúos Con in 2008.
After some years without new music, Fermín returned in 2014. He released a short album (EP) called Y Mi Vida Comenzó. The song "No podría estar mejor" was the main song from this album.
In 2017, Fermín IV released another EP called Odio / Amor. The song "Fácil" was the main single. This album marked his return to recording music. With this album, he won another award at the Arpa Awards.
In 2018, Fermín released new songs with other artists. These included "Deseos" and "Valentía" with Akil Ammar. These songs were for his album that was first called "IV," then "Laberinto," and finally released as Decisiones.
