Ferrero Küsschen are delicious chocolates made by the Ferrero company. Their name means "little kisses" in German. Each chocolate has a whole roasted hazelnut inside. This hazelnut is surrounded by a creamy hazelnut filling. All of this is covered in yummy milk chocolate.
What's Inside These Chocolates?
Ferrero Küsschen are made with several tasty ingredients. A big part of the chocolate, about 31%, is milk chocolate. This milk chocolate includes sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, and whole milk powder. It also has a little butter oil and vanillin for flavor.
The chocolates are famous for their hazelnuts, which make up about 27% of the treat! There's also some dark chocolate, about 15% of the candy. Other ingredients include vegetable oil, sugar, and a protein-rich powder from whey. They also use an emulsifier called lecithin from soy. This helps all the ingredients mix together smoothly.
When Did They Start Selling Them?
Ferrero Küsschen first came out in 1968. You can usually find them in boxes with 5 or 32 pieces. There are also special gift boxes that hold 14 or 20 chocolate packets.
In the past, Ferrero sold similar chocolates in the USA under the name Mon Chéri. However, in Germany and Italy, chocolates called Mon Chéri are still sold today. But these candies are quite different! Instead of a hazelnut, they are filled with a cherry.
How Are They Advertised?
Ferrero Küsschen are well known for their catchy slogan. The slogan is: "Give a Küsschen to your friend!" This encourages people to share these tasty chocolates.
