Different Models
The Fiat Idea came in a few different versions. Most of them were 5-door MPVs, which means they had five doors and were designed to carry both people and cargo comfortably. There was also a special version called the "Adventure" model, especially popular in Brazil. This version looked more like a small off-road car or a crossover, with a tougher design.
How the Engines Worked
Every car needs an engine to make it move. The Fiat Idea had different types of engines, which gave the car different amounts of power. Engines are measured by how much power they can produce, often in units like horsepower (hp).
Petrol Engines
Petrol engines use gasoline to create power. The Fiat Idea had a few options for petrol engines:
- 1.2 16V: This engine had 80 horsepower.
- 1.4 8V: This one had 78 horsepower.
- 1.4 16V: This engine was a bit more powerful, with 95 horsepower.
Diesel Engines
Diesel engines use diesel fuel. They are often known for being fuel-efficient. The Fiat Idea also offered several diesel engine choices:
- 1.3 Multijet 16V: This engine came in two power levels: 69 horsepower and 90 horsepower.
- 1.3 Multijet II 16V: A newer version of the 1.3 Multijet, producing 95 horsepower.
- 1.6 Multijet 16V: This was a stronger diesel option, with 120 horsepower.
- 1.9 Multijet 8V: Another powerful diesel engine, providing 101 horsepower.
