Fiat Seicento facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

The Fiat Seicento is a small car made by the Italian company Fiat. It was launched in 1998 and took the place of an older model called the Fiat Cinquecento. The Seicento was a popular choice for driving in busy towns and cities. Even though a newer car, the Fiat 500, came out in 2007 to replace it, Fiat kept making the Seicento until 2010.

Different Versions and Engines

Cars often come with different engine sizes and power levels. The Fiat Seicento had a few options, including petrol engines and even an electric version. Different versions of the car, often called "models," came with specific features or engine types.

Petrol Engines

The Seicento was available with two main petrol (gasoline) engines. The engine size is measured in "cc" (cubic centimeters), and power is measured in "kW" (kilowatts) or "hp" (horsepower). A bigger number usually means a more powerful engine.

Smaller Petrol Engine (899 cc, 29 kW / 40 hp)

This was a smaller engine option, good for city driving. Models with this engine included:

  • S
  • SX
  • Young
  • Citymatic

Larger Petrol Engine (1108 cc, 40 kW / 54 hp)

This engine offered a bit more power for the car. Models with this engine included:

  • Sole
  • Sound
  • Suite
  • Hobby
  • Brush
  • Sporting

Electric Engine (30 kW / 41 hp)

The Fiat Seicento also had an electric version called the Elettra. This car ran on electricity instead of petrol, making it a greener option.
