The Fiddley Foodle Bird was produced by H.A.P.P.Y. Animation and Fiddley Foodle Bird Productions. They worked with HIT Entertainment. The show became very popular and was broadcast in more than 30 countries around the world. It even continued to air on the BBC until 2001.

The Story of the Fiddley Foodle Bird

The main character of the show is a special bird. His full name is quite a mouthful: "The Fiddley Foodle Bim Bam Boodle Oo Diddley-Doodle Oodle Bird"! The voice of this amazing bird was done by Dennis Waterman. He was a well-known actor and singer.

The Fiddley Foodle Bird started as just a picture in a book. A young boy named Algernon found this book. Algernon wished that the bird would come to life. Guess what? His wish came true!

Algernon's Big Adventure

Once the bird was real, Algernon and his new friend set off on an exciting adventure. They were joined by two other characters. One was Princess Toto, who was always hungry. The other was Mrs. Grumblebaum, Algernon's very strict housekeeper.

Their main goal was to find Algernon's lost parents. His parents, Carzy and Maudy, were members of the Potty Explorer's Club. They got lost while exploring in a sieve!

The Villains of the Story

Not everyone wanted Algernon to succeed. His sneaky Uncle Arbathnot was determined to stop them. Uncle Arbathnot also wanted to get his hands on a mysterious treasure chest.

Uncle Arbathnot had some helpers. These included a strong man named Damage, a French character called Flannel, and a pirate named Pierre Head. Like many pirates, Pierre Head had a parrot. But this parrot was a wise-cracking green glove puppet!

The show also had a special guest voice. The famous singer and TV host Cilla Black voiced the President of the Potty Explorer's Club.
