Fiel van der Veen has drawn pictures for many books. He has worked with famous Dutch writers. Some of these authors include Paul Biegel, Jan Terlouw, and Willem Wilmink.
Special Book Week Gifts
In 1974, Fiel van der Veen illustrated a book called 2 is te veel. This book was written by Henk Barnard. It was a special gift for the Boekenweek, which is a big book event in the Netherlands.
Later, in 1989, he illustrated another special book. This was Het eiland daarginds by Paul Biegel. This book was also a gift for the Children's Book Week.
Award-Winning Illustrations
Fiel van der Veen has won important awards for his artwork. In 1988, he won the Zilveren Penseel. This award was for his drawings in Paul Biegel's book, De rode prinses.
