Filomena José Dias Fernandes Cautela, born on December 16, 1984, is a well-known Portuguese television presenter and actress. She began her journey in the entertainment world by acting in theatre plays in the year 2000. A few years later, in 2004, she started acting in movies. By 2005, she joined MTV Portugal as a presenter, which was a big step in her career.

Starting on Stage and Screen

Filomena Cautela continued to act in both theatre and films while her career as a TV presenter grew. She worked for different television stations and hosted many new shows. Her acting roles included parts in popular Portuguese TV series like Morangos Com Açúcar and Santa Bárbara. She also appeared in shows like Inspector Max and Conta-me como foi.

Becoming a Popular TV Host

Since 2015, Filomena has been the host of the late-night talk show 5 Para A Meia-Noite on RTP. This show is very popular in Portugal. She also became a familiar face at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2017, she was the Green Room presenter for Portugal's national final, Festival da Canção. She also announced Portugal's jury votes in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.

Hosting Eurovision

Filomena's involvement with Festival da Canção continued every year since 2017. Her biggest moment came on January 8, 2018. She was announced as one of the four main hosts for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. This big event took place in Portugal. She hosted alongside Sílvia Alberto, Daniela Ruah, and Catarina Furtado. It was later confirmed that Filomena would specifically host the Green Room. The Green Room is where all the contestants wait before and after their performances.

Other Presenting Roles

Beyond Eurovision, Filomena has hosted many other shows. She presented music festival coverage for RTP. She also hosted shows like Agora and Palcos Agora on RTP2. In 2019, she hosted I Love Portugal. She also presented Jogo de Todos os Jogos and Quem Quer Ser Milionario? Alta Pressão. Filomena Cautela continues to be a very active and beloved figure on Portuguese television.
