Filomena Cautela is a well-known Portuguese TV presenter and actress. She was born on December 16, 1984, in Torres Novas, Portugal. Filomena started her acting journey in theatre when she was just 16 years old, in the year 2000.
She made her first appearance in movies in 2004. A year later, in 2005, she became a presenter for MTV Portugal. This was a big step in her career!
Filomena's Exciting Career
Even after becoming a TV presenter, Filomena kept acting in plays and movies. Her television career grew, leading her to many different TV channels and new shows.
Since 2015, she has been the host of a popular late-night talk show. The show is called 5 Para A Meia-Noite and it airs on RTP. RTP is one of Portugal's main TV channels.
Filomena is also very famous for her work with the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2017, she was the Green Room presenter for Festival da Canção. This is the Portuguese national final for Eurovision. She also announced Portugal's jury votes in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Since 2017, she has been one of the main hosts of Festival da Canção every year.
Hosting Eurovision
On January 8, 2018, it was announced that Filomena would be one of the four hosts for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. She hosted the show alongside Sílvia Alberto, Daniela Ruah, and Catarina Furtado. On May 4, 2018, it was confirmed that Filomena would host the Green Room. The Green Room is where all the contestants wait during the show.
