Finn Øglænd is a Norwegian author, poet, and critic. He was born on October 7, 1957, in Stavanger, Norway. He grew up in a small town called Tananger in the Sola area. Finn Øglænd is known for writing many books and poems. He also works as a translator and reviews other people's writing.

Finn Øglænd's Journey as a Writer
Finn Øglænd went to a special school for authors in Bø, Telemark. This school helped him learn and improve his writing skills. Later, he also worked at the Academy for the Written Arts in Hordaland. There, he helped teach others who wanted to become writers.
His first book, "Det opplyste landskapet," came out in 1983. Since then, he has written many different types of books. He writes poems, stories, and even books for children. His work covers many different styles and topics.

Top Prizes for His Books
In 2000, he won the Sunnmørsprisen award. He received this prize for his book called Dei penaste jentene på TV. The next year, in 2001, he won another award for the same book. This was the Skolebibliotekarforeningens litteraturpris, which means the School Librarians' Association Literature Prize.
Honored for Youth Depictions
In 2005, Finn Øglænd was given the Samlagsprisen. Two years later, in 2007, he received the Rasmus Løland-stipend. He earned these awards because he writes about young people in a very fair and understanding way. He shows them just as they are, without judging them.

In 1999, his children's book Fem dagar, fire netter (which means "Five Days, Four Nights") was very popular.
