A Look at the Church's History
The church community, or congregation, started a long time ago in 1865. At first, they built a wooden church building. This first church was at the corner of Church Street and Main Street. It served the community for many years.
Building the Current Church
The wooden church was used until 1914. That year, the community built the church you see today. It was built in the same spot as the first one. The new building cost about $16,000 to construct. That was a lot of money back then!
Modern Additions and Services
The church has grown over the years. The newest part is a Family Life Center. This center has a gym and a big kitchen. It was finished in 2004 and cost around $1,200,000. Today, the church offers different worship services. There is a traditional service on Sunday mornings at 8:30. A "blended" service, which mixes styles, is at 10:45 AM. There is also a modern service called "607" on Sunday evenings.
