Fiscus is a small place in Audubon County, Iowa, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's a town or village that doesn't have its own local government like a city does. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
History of Fiscus
Fiscus got its start a long time ago. In 1889, a post office opened here, which was important for sending and receiving mail. This post office helped the community stay connected. However, it closed down in 1903.
A person named Adam Cain Fiscus was a minister at the Fiscus Church of Christ. The community might have been named after him or his family.
Population Changes Over Time
Like many small communities, Fiscus has seen its population change. In 1925, only 12 people lived there. By 1940, the population had grown to 30 people.
