Fisherman's Island State Park is a fun outdoor spot in Michigan. It covers about 2,678 acres. This park sits right on the edge of Lake Michigan. You can find it southwest of a town called Charlevoix.
The park gets its name from a small piece of land nearby. This is called Fisherman Island. It's usually about 900 feet away from the main shore. Sometimes, the lake water gets very low. When this happens, the island can connect to the mainland. It forms a natural land bridge called a tombolo. This happened often between 1998 and 2016. The park is managed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
