Five Get into Trouble is an exciting adventure book by Enid Blyton. It's the eighth story in her popular Famous Five series. This book was first published way back in 1949. In this thrilling tale, one of the Five, Dick, gets kidnapped by mistake! He's confused with another boy named Richard. The Famous Five then go on a mission to find him. They track him to a hidden house, but soon find themselves in big trouble too.

The Cycling Adventure Begins

The Famous Five, Julian, Dick, Anne, George, and their dog Timmy, are allowed to go on a fun cycling holiday. After some discussion, their parents agree to the trip. While exploring the countryside, they meet a boy named Richard Kent. Richard comes from a wealthy family. He tells them about his strict father and a former bodyguard named Rooky. Richard didn't like Rooky and once tricked him to get him fired.

A New Friend Joins the Group

Richard asks the Five if he can join their cycling adventure. He promises to go to his aunt's house later if his mother says yes. The Five agree, and Richard cycles along with them. However, Richard hadn't actually asked his mother for permission.

A Case of Mistaken Identity

When Richard finally heads to his aunt's house, he finds she's not home. As he leaves, a car driven by Rooky starts chasing him! Richard quickly cycles back to the Famous Five and tells them the whole truth. Meanwhile, Rooky's friends make a big mistake. They think Dick is Richard and kidnap him instead!

Tracking Down Dick

The rest of the Famous Five and Richard work together to find Dick. They follow clues that lead them to a lonely house called Owl's Dene. On their way, they see a suspicious man throwing clothes down a well. This makes them even more curious about what's happening.

Trapped at Owl's Dene

When they arrive at Owl's Dene, the children sneak into the house. But they are soon caught by the gang and locked up themselves! Julian, always resourceful, manages to escape his room. He explores the house and finds a secret room. Inside, he discovers a man sleeping.

The Truth Comes Out

The next morning, Rooky sees Dick and realizes his mistake. He understands that his friends kidnapped the wrong boy. For a moment, it seems like the Famous Five might be set free. But then, Richard is recognized by the gang. This means all the children are held prisoner again.

A Daring Escape Plan

The children know they need to escape and get help. They come up with a clever plan. When one of the gang members prepares to leave in his car, they decide someone should hide in the car's trunk. Richard bravely volunteers for this risky job.

Help Arrives

Richard successfully escapes in the trunk and quickly goes to the police. When the police arrive at Owl's Dene, Julian shows them the secret room he found. Inside, they discover an escaped criminal! The gang had planned to help this criminal leave the country. In return, they wanted a share of the stolen goods he had hidden.

A Happy Ending

After the adventure, Richard is safely taken home to his worried parents. They are very grateful to the Famous Five for helping their son. As a special thank you, Richard's parents treat the Famous Five to something nice. The story ends with everyone happy and safe.
