Flag of Iraqi Kurdistan facts for kids
The Flag of Iraqi Kurdistan is a special symbol for the Kurdish people. In Kurdish, it's called Alaya Kurdistanê. This flag has three main colors, placed in stripes from top to bottom. The top stripe is red, the middle is white, and the bottom is green. In the center of the white stripe, there's a bright yellow sun.
This sun has 21 rays. These rays are very important because they represent Nowruz, which is the Kurdish New Year. Nowruz is a celebration of spring and new beginnings.
