Flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis facts for kids

The flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis is the national symbol of this island country. It was officially adopted in 1983 when Saint Kitts and Nevis became an independent nation. A flag is a special piece of cloth with colors and symbols that represent a country, its history, and its people.
What the Flag Looks Like
The flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis has a unique design. It features a bold black stripe that runs diagonally across the flag. This stripe starts from the bottom left corner and goes up to the top right corner. On both sides of the black stripe, there are thin yellow lines, which help the black stripe stand out.
Inside the black stripe, you will see two bright white stars. These stars have five points each. The diagonal stripe divides the flag into two triangles. The top triangle, located on the left side of the flag, is green. The bottom triangle, on the right side, is red.
