What is Flight of Fear?

Flight of Fear is a special type of roller coaster known as a "launched inverted coaster." This means it doesn't use a big hill to start moving. Instead, it uses a powerful launch system to shoot you forward at high speed right from the start! On an inverted coaster, your feet dangle freely because the track is above your head.

The Thrilling Ride Experience

When you ride Flight of Fear, you'll feel like you're part of a sci-fi movie. The ride is themed around an alien encounter. You'll enter a mysterious hangar, which sets the scene for your adventure. Once you're strapped in, the lights go out, and you're suddenly launched into the darkness!

The coaster twists, turns, and flips you upside down multiple times. Since it's all in the dark, you can't see the track ahead, which makes every loop and corkscrew a huge surprise. Where to Find Flight of Fear

There are two identical versions of Flight of Fear. Both were opened in 1996.

• One is located at Kings Island, a popular theme park near Mason, Ohio.
• The other is at Kings Dominion, another fantastic park located in Doswell, Virginia.
