Florida is a lively town and municipality located in the Valle del Cauca Department in Colombia. It's a place with a rich history and beautiful natural spots.
The first people to live here included indigenous groups, mestizos (people of mixed European and indigenous heritage), Afro-Latinos, and mulattos (people of mixed African and European heritage). Important rivers flowing through Florida are the Fraile, Parraga, and Desbaratado. The main road in the town is called La Calle Novena, which means "Ninth Street."
A popular spot for visitors is La Hoya. This is a natural pool of water formed by a part of the Fraile River. It's a great place to relax and enjoy nature. In 2008, Florida was considered a location for important peace discussions in Colombia.
