This section will tell you all about the amazing story in Flyte. Get ready for magic, mystery, and dragons!
A New Threat Emerges
The story begins with a mysterious boy. He rows a canoe to a dark place. This is where the evil Necromancer DomDaniel was defeated. The boy finds DomDaniel's skeleton. He plans to get revenge on everyone who doubted him. He wants to become the ExtraOrdinary Wizard.
Septimus's New Life
A year has passed since the first book, Magyk. Septimus Heap is now learning from Marcia Overstrand. She is the powerful ExtraOrdinary Wizard. Septimus's older brother, Simon, had run away. He was angry about Septimus. Now, Simon returns and kidnaps Jenna. He takes her away on his horse, Thunder.
The Search for Jenna
Septimus quickly sets out to find Jenna. His brother Nicko helps him. Nicko is good at building boats. Jenna manages to escape from Simon's hideout. She makes her way towards The Port. Septimus and Nicko finally rescue Jenna there. But Simon's tracking ball, Sleuth, follows them.
A Daring Escape
They travel to the Marram Marshes. There, they find Aunt Zelda's cottage. They take the amazing Dragon-Boat from her. They fly the Dragon-Boat towards the Castle. But Simon chases them using a Flyte Charm. He drops a huge Thunderflash spell. It hits the Dragon-Boat's wing. The boat crashes near Jannit Marten's Boatyard. Septimus, Jenna, and Aunt Zelda use a special spell. It's called the Transubstantiation Triple spell. They use it to fix the Dragon-Boat.
The Flyte Charm and a Dragon's Birth
Septimus is also searching for the lost Flyte charm. He finds a part of it. He then joins it with a small pair-of-wings charm. Marcia had given him this charm. It was a gift for becoming her apprentice. With the charm, Septimus learns to fly! He even warns Simon to leave Jenna alone.
Meanwhile, a green rock Jenna gave him starts to hatch. It's a dragon egg! A baby dragon emerges. Septimus loves the dragon right away. He names him Spit Fyre. The dragon thinks Marcia is his mother. This happens after she yells at him on the dragon launch pad.
Defeating the ShadowSafe
Septimus discovers a shadow following Marcia. He finds out that Marcia's new ShadowSafe contains something dangerous. It holds the bones of the dead Necromancer, DomDaniel. Marcia didn't know this. When the bones come together, DomDaniel tries to kill Marcia. With Septimus's help, Marcia uses an Identify spell. She destroys DomDaniel once again.
