Fons van Wissen (born March 21, 1933 – died July 7, 2015) was a famous Dutch football player. He was known for playing as a midfielder and had a successful career with clubs like MVV, PSV, and Helmond Sport. He also proudly represented his country, the Netherlands, in many international matches.

Playing for Clubs
Fons van Wissen started playing football at a young age. He made his first professional appearance at just 15 years old for a local team called RKVVM. In 1951, he joined MVV, a bigger club.
Winning with PSV
In 1958, Fons van Wissen moved to PSV. This was a very important move for his career. With PSV, he helped his team win the Eredivisie title in 1963. They won a big game against Ajax with a score of 5-2. Fons van Wissen even played in that game while he was injured, showing how dedicated he was! He was also the team's captain for two years.
Finishing His Career
After his time at PSV, Fons van Wissen played for Helmond Sport. He finished his professional football career with this club.
Playing for the Netherlands
Fons van Wissen also played for his country, the Netherlands. He made his first appearance for the national team in April 1957 in a friendly match against Belgium.
International Matches and Goals
He played a total of 30 matches for the Netherlands and scored 4 goals during his international career. He also represented his country in four FIFA World Cup qualification games, trying to help the team reach the World Cup. His last international match was in October 1964 against Albania.
Life After Football
After he stopped playing football, Fons van Wissen opened his own sports shop in Eindhoven. He passed away in July 2015.
