Foosackly's (stylized as foosackly's) is a popular American restaurant chain. It serves delicious chicken meals. You can find these restaurants mainly in coastal Alabama and Northwest Florida.

How Foosackly's Started

Foosackly's was created by two friends, Will Fusaiotti and Eric Brechtel. They both went to Louisiana State University. In 1995, Will moved to Mobile, Alabama. He helped his dad open a Smoothie King there.

Even though they had never cooked fried chicken before, Will and Eric decided to open their own restaurant. Their very first Foosackly's opened on April 28, 2000. It was located on University Boulevard in Mobile.

Growing Across States

Since it started, Foosackly's has grown quite a bit! It has become a well-known chain in Alabama. There are now 14 locations open. You can find them in cities like Mobile, Daphne, Foley, and Saraland.

They also have restaurants in Semmes and Auburn. In Florida, there are two locations in Pensacola, Florida. In 2020, they opened their fourteenth restaurant in Tuscaloosa.

The founders plan to open even more restaurants. They want to expand in Baldwin County and Pensacola. Will Fusaiotti believes it's important to keep restaurants successful. He says, "It's not how many you open, it's how many you keep open."

During the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, all Foosackly's dining rooms closed. Customers could still get their food through drive-thru or by picking it up. Luckily, the dining rooms have since reopened for everyone to enjoy.

Creative Advertising Campaigns

Foosackly's is known for its clever advertising. One of their campaigns got attention around the world in 2008. This was during a big debate about new airplanes for the U.S. Air Force.

A company called Boeing was upset about a contract. Foosackly's put up billboards that said, "We would like to offer Boeing a finger." This was a playful way to offer their famous chicken fingers. People even bought bumper stickers with this slogan! They were sold as far away as California and France.

Years later, in 2012, another airplane company, Airbus, announced plans. They decided to build their first North American factory in Mobile. Foosackly's quickly came up with a new slogan. It read, "We'd like to offer Airbus a hand." This showed their support for the new factory.
