The Meaning of Kwesawék Amlamkuk

The area where the reserve is located is part of the traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. They called this place Kwesawék Amlamkuk. In the Míkmaq language, this name means "the delta where the multicoloured rivers meet." This description comes from the original spot of the Fort Folly reserve.
