Foscoe is a small place in Watauga County, North Carolina, in the United States. It is not a city or town with its own government. Instead, it is called an unincorporated community. This means it is a group of homes and businesses that are not part of an official town. It is also a census-designated place, which means the government counts the people living there for official records.
Foscoe is located on a road called North Carolina Highway 105. It is southwest of a larger town named Boone.

Exploring Foscoe: A Tourist Hotspot
Foscoe is located between two other places, Seven Devils and Shulls Mill. Many shops can be found along the main highway in Foscoe. These shops mainly serve people who are visiting the area.
Foscoe has grown a lot since the 1980s. This growth is because many tourists visit the area all year round. A very popular nearby attraction is Grandfather Mountain.
Foscoe's Transportation History
Long ago, a train track passed through the Foscoe area. This track belonged to the East Tennessee and Western North Carolina Railroad. People often called this train "Tweetsie."
However, in 1940, big floods damaged the train tracks. After that, the trains stopped running through Foscoe. Later, in 1956, a new road was built. This road, NC 105, was built right over where the old train tracks used to be.
