Fouche, Georgia facts for kids
Fouche is a small place in Floyd County, Georgia. It is called an unincorporated community. This means it is a group of homes and buildings that does not have its own local government, like a city or town would. Instead, it is part of the larger county area.
History of Fouche
The community of Fouche has a simple history. A post office was opened there in 1881. This was an important place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years. However, it closed down in 1901.
The name "Fouche" comes from an early settler in the area. The community was named after a man named Simpson Fouche. He was a pioneer, which means he was one of the first people to settle and live in that part of Georgia.
