Fowler is a small community in Adams County, Illinois, United States. It is known as an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. However, it is still a recognized place where people live. Fowler is located near the city of Quincy.
Major transportation routes pass through Fowler. U.S. Route 24 goes right through the middle of the community. A railroad line, used by the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe company, also runs through Fowler. Additionally, Interstate 172 starts just two miles west of the community.

History
Fowler began in the 1850s. This was when a railroad line was built and extended to this area. The community grew around this new railroad.
In 1857, a post office was opened here. It was first called "Fowler's Station." Later, in 1869, the name was officially changed to just "Fowler."
