Fred's Musical Inspirations
Fred Leclercq gets ideas from many great guitarists. Some of his influences include Uli Jon Roth, Adrian Smith, Trey Azagthoth, and Marty Friedman. These musicians have helped shape his unique playing style.
Fred's Music Journey
Fred joined the band DragonForce in 2005. He took over as bassist for their Sonic Firestorm tour. He recorded five albums with DragonForce during his time with them. Later, he decided to leave the band to explore different types of music on his own.
In 2019, the band Kreator announced that Fred would be their new bassist. He replaced Christian Giesler, who had been with Kreator for 25 years. This was a big step in Fred's career.
Starting Amahiru
In 2020, Fred Leclercq started a new music project called Amahiru. He created this band with Japanese guitarist Saki. Fred plays lead, rhythm, and bass guitar in Amahiru. Saki plays lead guitar.
Fred and Saki first met in 2015. Saki's band, Mary's Blood, opened for DragonForce in Hong Kong. Amahiru's first album came out in November 2020. It features singer Archie Wilson, keyboardist Coen Janssen, and drummer Mike Heller. The album also includes special guests like Elize Ryd.
Fred's Musical Gear
Fred Leclercq uses ESP bass guitars. He even has his own special model called the LTD FL-600. This model is also shared with five other bass players. When he played with Sabaton, he used an ESP Horizon electric guitar. For his sound, he uses Peavey Tour 700 bass amps. He also uses large 8x10 bass cabinets and a Samson UHF Wireless System.
