Frances's Family Life
Frances Elizabeth Wynne was the youngest child in her family. Her father, Charles Griffith-Wynne, owned large estates. These were called Voelas and Cefn Amlwch in Denbighshire, Wales. Her family was related to the Earls of Aylesford.
Frances had an older sister named Charlotte Godley. Charlotte was known for her letters and for leading her community. She lived in the country of New Zealand. Frances Elizabeth never got married. She passed away in 1907.

Frances Elizabeth traveled a lot with her family. They visited many places in England and Wales. They also went on grand tours across Europe. She was a very active artist, even though it was her hobby.
About 1,850 of her drawings still exist today. These sketches were made between 1854 and 1901. They are now kept at the National Library of Wales. Her art included many styles. She drew fantasy scenes and funny observations. She also created classic portraits of people.
One special drawing shows Queen Victoria at the opera in 1857. Other important people were there too. These included King Leopold I and other European royalty.
