Francesco Di Giacomo (born August 22, 1947 – died February 21, 2014) was a famous Italian singer and songwriter. He was best known as the main singer for the progressive rock band Banco del Mutuo Soccorso. He sang with them from 1971 until 2013.

Early Life and Starting a Band
Francesco was born in a small town called La Caletta in Italy. When he was five years old, his family moved to Rome.
In 1971, Francesco met a keyboard player named Vittorio Nocenzi at the Caracalla Pop Festival. They decided to form a progressive rock band called Banco del Mutuo Soccorso. Progressive rock is a style of music that often has long songs and uses different instruments in creative ways. Their first album came out one year later. It was very popular and praised by music critics.
His Role in the Band
Francesco was the lead singer for Banco del Mutuo Soccorso. He also wrote the words for most of their songs. His powerful voice and unique style helped make the band famous.
