Francisco Antolínez de Sarabia (born 1645 – died 1700) was a Spanish painter. He created beautiful historical scenes and landscapes. Francisco learned his painting skills from the famous artist Murillo. He followed Murillo's style and used similar colors in his own artwork.

About Francisco Antolínez

Francisco was born in Seville, Spain. He was the nephew of another well-known painter, José Antolínez. In 1672, Francisco moved to Madrid to join his uncle.

His Life and Art

Even though Francisco was already a talented painter, he decided to try a different path. He studied law in Seville and hoped to become a lawyer. He wanted to find a good job in the legal field.

However, things didn't work out as he planned. He wasn't successful as a lawyer. Because of this, he had to go back to painting to earn a living. This was a good thing for art lovers!

When he returned to painting, Francisco created many smaller pictures. These often showed scenes from the Bible and the life of the Virgin. People really admired these paintings. They loved his creativity, the way he used colors, and how easily he painted.

Francisco Antolínez passed away in 1700. Many people who loved art were sad to see him go. They felt that his amazing talent could have been used even more if he had focused on painting his whole life.
