His Football Journey
Francisco Molinero was born in Ontígola, a town in Spain. He started his football career in the youth system of Atlético Madrid, one of Spain's biggest football clubs. He played two seasons in La Liga, which is the top football league in Spain. His first game was on 25 September 2004, where he played the whole match.
After his time at Atlético Madrid, he went on loan to Málaga CF. A "loan" means he played for Málaga for a short time before returning to his main club.
Moving to New Teams
In July 2007, Molinero joined RCD Mallorca. He didn't play many games there. The next year, he moved to Levante UD, which had recently been moved down to the second division of Spanish football.
On 21 July 2009, Molinero tried something new. He signed with FC Dinamo București in Romania. This was his first time playing football outside of Spain! He even played in the UEFA Europa League, which is a big European competition. His team won a play-off match against FC Slovan Liberec on penalties. He stayed in Romania for one year before returning to Spain to play for SD Huesca in the second division.
Success with Real Murcia and Real Betis
In 2011, Molinero joined Real Murcia CF. He was a very important player for them, playing in almost every league match for three years.
On 26 June 2014, he moved to Real Betis, another team in Spain's second division. He helped Real Betis get promoted to La Liga in 2015, which means they moved up to the top league! He even scored one goal that season.
Later Career
After his time at Real Betis, Molinero signed a two-year contract with Getafe CF on 25 June 2016. In July 2018, at 33 years old, he moved back to the second division to play for Sporting de Gijón. He later played for Real Murcia again and then Mar Menor FC before ending his professional career.
