Frank Hamilton Lacey was born in Dublin, Ireland, on May 2, 1879. His father was also a doctor. Frank studied medicine at the University of Manchester in England. He earned his first medical degree in 1906. Later, he received a higher medical degree in 1912. After his studies, he began working at Saint Mary's Hospital, Manchester.

Serving in World War I

During World War I, Frank Hamilton Lacey served as a doctor in the army. He was part of the Royal Army Service Corps in places like Egypt and the Dardanelles. Later, he joined the Royal Army Medical Corps and served in France. He helped many soldiers during the war. When he left the army, he had reached the rank of major. He also received an award called the Territorial Decoration for his service.

Work After the War

After World War I, Frank Hamilton Lacey continued his important medical work. He returned to Saint Mary's Hospital, Manchester as a surgeon. He also worked at the Christie Hospital, where he specialized in women's health. He taught new doctors about obstetrics (delivering babies) and gynaecology (women's health) at the University of Manchester.

Frank Hamilton Lacey passed away in 1958 at his home in Balcombe. He was 79 years old and left behind his wife, Evelyn Rudge Lacey, and their three children.
