Françoise H Jourda (born November 26, 1955 – died May 31 or June 1, 2015) was a famous French architect who won many awards. She taught architecture to students all over the world starting in 1979. She taught at places like the Ecole d’Architecture de Lyon in France, the Oslo School of Architecture and Design in Norway, and the Vienna University of Technology in Austria.

Françoise Jourda had her own architecture company called JAP (Jourda Architectes Paris). She also led another company called EO-CITE, which helped with planning buildings and cities.

She designed many important buildings. Some of her famous works include the Mont-Cenis Academy in Germany and the Architecture School of Lyon in France (built in 1999). She also designed buildings for the University of Marne la Vallée (1992) and the law courts in Melun (1994). She even designed parts of the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique and the Botanical Garden Museum in Bordeaux (2006).

One of her most special projects was "éNergie zérO" in Saint Denis (2008). This was the very first building in France that used almost no extra energy. Françoise Jourda passed away in 2015 when she was 59 years old.

Françoise Jourda received many important awards for her work in architecture:

  • In 1999, she won the European Solar Prize. This was for her design of the training center at Herne-Sodingen, which was very good at using solar energy.
  • In 2000, she received the Palmarès Acier 2000 for the law courts in Melun. This award recognizes great use of steel in architecture.
  • In 2007, she was one of the first five people to receive the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture. This award celebrates architects who design buildings that are good for the environment.
  • In 2009, she was made a knight of the Légion d’Honneur. This is one of the highest awards given by the French government.
