Frederick "Fred" Agius (born 2 February 1984) is an Australian footballer. He is known for playing both soccer and Australian rules football at a high level. This is quite rare! Today, he plays for the South Australian Amateur Soccer League team Brahma Lodge.

Fred Agius's Soccer Journey
Fred Agius started playing soccer at a young age. From 1998 to 2000, he played for the South Australian Sport Institute. This was in the Under 23 division, even though he was younger.
Playing for Australia
In 2001, Fred was chosen to play for the Australian Under-17 team. They played in the 2001 FIFA U-17 World Championship. Fred played four matches in this big tournament. He even scored one goal. Before the tournament, he scored six goals in a warm-up match against American Samoa!
Early Club Career
After his time with the national youth team, Fred joined Playford City in 2001. Later that year, he moved to Sydney Olympic for the 2001/02 season. This was part of Australia's top soccer league at the time, the National Soccer League. He played four times for Sydney Olympic, coming on as a substitute.
In the 2003/04 season, Fred returned to his home city to play for the new Adelaide United team. This club was formed after Adelaide City left the league. Fred played 13 matches for Adelaide United and scored one goal. After this season, he went back to play for Adelaide City.
Joining the A-League
In 2008, a new team called North Queensland Fury was joining the A-League. This is Australia's top professional soccer league. They wanted Fred Agius to play for them. Adelaide City agreed to let him go for A$20,000. In December 2008, North Queensland Fury announced that Fred was their newest player. He signed a contract to play for them in the 2009–2010 A-League season.
Fred Agius's Australian Rules Career
After the 2001–02 soccer season, Fred Agius decided to try something different. He went back to playing Australian rules football, a sport he had enjoyed as a junior.
He joined the Central District team. He managed to earn a spot in their reserve grade team. He even won a premiership medal with them! This means his team won the grand final, which is the championship game. It's very impressive that he played at a high level in two different sports.
