Fredrick J. Love is an American politician. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Currently, he serves in the Arkansas Senate. Before this, he was a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives. He served in the House from 2011 to 2023.

About Fred Love
Fredrick J. Love was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. He grew up there and later became a leader in his community. He decided to work in politics to help the people of Arkansas.
His Education Journey
Fred Love studied at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He earned two important degrees there. First, he got a bachelor's degree in political science. This means he studied how governments work. Then, he earned a master's degree in public administration. This degree teaches how to manage public services. He also studied public health at the UAMS Medical Center. A former state senator, Joyce Elliott, was his high school English teacher.
How He Became a Politician
Fred Love has run in several elections to become a representative.
Early Elections
In 2004, he first tried to win a seat in the Arkansas House. He ran in the Democratic Primary election. This is where people from the same party vote for their favorite candidate. He did not win that election.
Winning His First Seat
In 2010, the seat for District 35 became open again. Fred Love ran in the Democratic Primary and won. Then, he won the main election in November. He became a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives.
Later Elections
In 2012, the election districts were changed. This is called "redistricting." Fred Love's district became District 29. In that election, no one ran against him. This means he was "unopposed" and won easily. He continued to serve in the House until 2023. In 2023, he moved to the Arkansas Senate.

Fred Love has held important positions in the Arkansas government.
Serving in the House
He was a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives for many years. From 2019 to 2021, he was the Minority Leader. This means he was the main leader for the Democratic Party members in the House. He helped guide their decisions and speak for their group.
Moving to the Senate
Since January 2023, Fred Love has been serving in the Arkansas Senate. The Senate is another part of the state's law-making body. He continues to work for the people of Arkansas in this new role.
