Freeland is a small, unincorporated community located in Muskingum County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. An unincorporated community means it's a group of homes or businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
History of Freeland
Freeland's history includes a time when it had its own post office. This post office first opened its doors in 1874. It was a busy spot for people to send and receive mail. The post office was originally set up inside a local store, which was common for small communities. It served the area for many years before closing down in 1918.
