History of Frenchtown
Frenchtown began in 1840. It was started by a group of people who came from France. These early settlers created a new home for themselves in Indiana.
A post office opened in Frenchtown in 1873. This office helped people send and receive mail. It stayed open for many years. However, the post office closed down in 1905.
