The Story of Friendship's Field
The movie follows a girl named Ira during her last summer before she has to start working in the beet fields. Her father hires some migrant workers to help with the farm work.

Among the new workers is a boy named Oscar, who is Mexican. Ira and Oscar quickly become friends. Their friendship grows stronger as they spend time together.

However, not everyone in the local community is welcoming. Some people show prejudice towards the migrant workers. Prejudice means having unfair feelings or opinions about someone just because of their background. Despite these challenges, Ira and Oscar's friendship proves to be very strong and lasting.
