Frisco is a small, unincorporated community located in Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana, United States. An unincorporated community means it's a place with a shared identity but without its own local government.
Exploring Frisco's Past
This area was once known by a slightly different name: Friscoville. The community got its current name from a train line. In 1904, the Frisco Gulf Coast Lines built a railway nearby. This railway connected New Orleans to Houston.
A post office was opened in Frisco in 1912. However, it didn't stay open for very long. By 1916, the post office closed down. Its services were then moved to the nearby town of Livonia.
Where is Frisco Located?
Frisco is found north of the town of Livonia. You can find it near where two roads meet: Louisiana Highway 78 and Louisiana Highway 979. A natural waterway, called Bayou George, also flows through this area. A bayou is a slow-moving stream or a marshy lake, common in the southern United States.
