Frisk is a popular brand of breath mint candies. These mints are made by Frisk International and sold all over the world by Perfetti Van Melle. Frisk mints are tiny, pellet-shaped candies. They come in a cool metal container.
The Story of Frisk Mints
Frisk mints were created in 1986 by an inventor from Belgium. He worked with a company that makes medicines. Together, they made a special recipe for a very strong minty candy.
At first, you could only buy Frisk mints in pharmacies in Belgium. Soon, they became available in the Netherlands, Canada, and Japan. Frisk became very popular in Japan. In 1996, it was even named the "Best Food Product of the Year" there!
Since 1995, Perfetti Van Melle has been in charge of selling Frisk mints. You can find Frisk in many different flavors.
How Frisk Packaging Changed
The classic Frisk box got a new look in 2004. It changed to a box with a sliding opening. A bigger change happened in 2009. That's when the mints started coming in a metal box. The mints themselves also changed to a new triangular shape.
In 2014, Perfetti Van Melle announced something important. They removed an ingredient called titanium dioxide from their products. This was done to make their candies even better. In 2016, the original Frisk factory in Haasrode, Belgium, closed down.
New Products and Markets
In 2019, Frisk worked with a company called Myvisto. They made online ads for two new sugar-free products. These were Frisk Power Mints and Frisk Clean Breath. The company said these ads were very successful. In 2020, Frisk launched another new product called Frisk White.
Today, Frisk mints are sold in many countries. These include Japan, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Canada, Belgium, and Norway. Japan is the biggest market for Frisk mints.
