Frisk is a brand of tiny, strong-flavored mint candies. They come in a cool metal box that's easy to carry. These mints are made by Frisk International and sold all over the world by a company called Perfetti Van Melle.

The Story of Frisk Mints

How Frisk Started

Frisk mints were first created in 1986 by a smart person from Belgium. This inventor worked with a company that makes medicines. Together, they developed the special recipe for these very strong mints.

At first, Frisk mints were only sold in pharmacies in Belgium. Soon, they became popular and were sold in the Netherlands, Canada, and Japan. Frisk became very successful in Japan. In 1996, it was even named the "Best Food Product of the Year" there.

Changes Over Time

Since 1995, the Frisk brand has been distributed by Perfetti Van Melle. There are many different flavors of Frisk mints available today.

In 2004, the classic Frisk box changed to one with a sliding opening. A bigger change happened in 2009. That's when the mints started coming in a metal box. The mints themselves also changed to a new triangular shape.

In 2014, Perfetti Van Melle announced an important change. They removed a substance called titanium dioxide from all their products, including Frisk mints. This was done to make their products even better for you.

In 2016, the original Frisk factory in Haasrode, Belgium, closed down. This was a big change for the company.

Frisk Today

In 2019, Frisk worked with a company called Myvisto to make online ads. These ads promoted two new sugar-free products: Frisk Power Mints and Frisk Clean Breath. Perfetti Van Melle said the ads were very successful. In 2020, Frisk introduced another new product called Frisk White.

Today, Frisk mints are sold in many countries. These include Japan, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Canada, Belgium, and Norway. Japan is still the biggest market for Frisk mints.
