From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee is the twenty-third studio album by the famous American singer Elvis Presley. It was released by RCA Records in May 1976. This album was very popular, becoming Elvis's fourth album to reach number one on the Billboard country music album sales chart in just four years.

One of the songs, "Hurt", was a big hit. It made it into the top 10 on both the country and adult contemporary music charts. Another song, "For the Heart", also did well on the country charts. These songs continued to be popular later on. "For the Heart" became the first single for The Judds in 1983. In 1986, Juice Newton had a number one hit with her version of "Hurt".

The album From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee was officially recognized as "Gold" on October 10, 1977. This means it sold over 500,000 copies in the United States, as certified by the RIAA.

How the Album Was Made

Many people thought From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee was recorded during a live concert. This is because the album says the songs were "recorded live." However, these songs were actually recorded live in a special studio set up inside Elvis Presley's own home, Graceland, in Memphis. He wasn't performing in front of an audience.

Two other songs that Elvis recorded during these sessions were "Moody Blue" and "She Thinks I Still Care". These songs were released the next year on his very last album, Moody Blue.

Album Releases and Versions

In 2000, the songs from this album were added to the Moody Blue album. This created a larger CD version with 19 tracks. Also in 2000, a special two-disc version of From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee was released by the "Follow That Dream" label.
