Frozen Creek is a small, quiet place in Breathitt County, Kentucky, in the United States. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government. The post office in Frozen Creek closed its doors in 1983.
History of Frozen Creek
A post office was first opened in Frozen Creek way back in 1850. That's a long time ago! People believe the community got its interesting name from a local creek. Early settlers often found this creek very difficult to cross during the winter because parts of it would freeze over, making it quite dangerous. So, they started calling it "Frozen Creek," and the name stuck for the community too.
