Full-size vehicle facts for kids
A full-size car is a term used in North America for a car that is larger than a mid-size car. These cars were traditionally designed to comfortably fit six people and their luggage. They were great for long trips.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) calls these "large cars." They measure the total space inside the car for passengers and luggage. If it's big enough, it's a large car.
A full-size SUV (or CUV) is a large utility vehicle. It has more than 100 cubic feet of space for cargo. This space is measured when the back seats are folded down or taken out. Both full-size and mid-size SUVs often have three rows of seats. This means they can carry 8 or 9 passengers.
A full-size van is a van that is bigger than a minivan. One big difference is how many people they can carry. A full-size van can often seat up to 15 passengers. A minivan usually seats up to 8 people.
