Fullertown, Ohio facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Fullertown is a small, unincorporated community located in Geauga County, in the state of Ohio, United States. An unincorporated community is a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or a town. Instead, it's usually managed by the county.

History of Fullertown

Fullertown has a simple but interesting history. It was named after an early settler in the area, a man named Thomas Fuller.

When Fullertown Had a Post Office

For a period, Fullertown was important enough to have its own post office. This post office opened in 1879, which was a time when many small communities were growing across the United States. Having a post office meant that people living in Fullertown could send and receive letters and packages right in their own community, instead of having to travel to a larger town.

However, the Fullertown post office didn't operate forever. It closed down in 1906. This often happened as transportation improved and people could more easily reach larger towns with central post offices.
