Playing as a Professional
Fumitake Miura was born in Shizuoka, Japan. After finishing university, he joined Yokohama Marinos in 1993. He quickly became an important player for the team. He often played as an attacking midfielder or a forward.
In 1995, his team, Yokohama Marinos, won the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league. Later, in 1998, he didn't play as much. So, in 1999, he moved to Kyoto Purple Sanga.
In October 1999, he moved to another team called Júbilo Iwata. With Júbilo Iwata, he won the J1 League again in 1999. In 2001, he joined FC Tokyo. Here, he played more as a defensive midfielder.
FC Tokyo won the J.League Cup in 2004. This was a very special win because it was the first major trophy for the club! Fumitake Miura played fewer games in 2005. He decided to stop playing professional football at the end of the 2006 season.
Starting a Coaching Career
After he stopped playing, Fumitake Miura began coaching. He started at FC Tokyo in 2007. From 2009, he coached at several other clubs. These included Yokohama F. Marinos (from 2009 to 2012), Albirex Niigata (from 2013 to 2014), and Avispa Fukuoka (in 2015).

In 2017, he moved to Albirex Niigata, a team in the top J1 League. However, his time there was short. The team only won one game out of ten matches. Because of the team's results, he was no longer the manager in May 2017.
