Further Chronicles of Avonlea is a collection of short stories written by L. M. Montgomery. It was published in 1920 and is a follow-up to her earlier book, Chronicles of Avonlea. This book shares many tales about the people living in the made-up Canadian village of Avonlea. This charming village is located on Prince Edward Island.

Even though it's sometimes sold as part of the Anne Shirley series, Anne doesn't play a huge role in this book. Out of 15 stories, she is the main character and narrator in only one, called "The Little Brown Book of Miss Emily." She is also briefly mentioned in two other stories. A few other characters from the Anne books, like Diana Barry, Marilla Cuthbert, and Rachel Lynde, also appear in smaller parts.

Stories in the Collection

This book contains 15 unique short stories. Each one tells a different tale about the lives and adventures of the people in and around Avonlea.

Aunt Cynthia asks her nieces, Sue and Ismay Meade, to look after her beloved Persian cat named Fatima. The girls don't really want to. When Fatima goes missing, Sue has to come up with a clever plan to avoid making her rich aunt angry.

The Materializing of Cecil
