His Career in Business
Gérard Worms started his career working for the French government. He was a technical adviser. He also advised important government officials. He worked for Olivier Guichard, who was the Minister of Industry. Later, he advised Jacques Chaban-Delmas, who was the Prime Minister of France.
After working for the government, Worms moved into the business world. From 1972, he worked for several large companies. These included the Hachette Group, which is a big publishing company. He also worked for Rhône-Poulenc, a chemical company, and Telecom Italia.

Gérard Worms held many top jobs. He was Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board for M6, a French TV channel. From 1990 to 1995, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the Compagnie de Suez. Later, he became Vice Chairman of Rothschild Europe. He was also a Senior Advisor for Rothschild & Cie Banque.
