Gökhan Özoğuz (born October 11, 1976) is a famous Turkish singer and musician. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist for the band Athena. He started the band with his twin brother, Hakan Özoğuz. Athena plays a cool mix of ska and punk rock music.
Gökhan was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He grew up in the Fenerbahçe neighborhood. He later studied at Anadolu University through an open education program. His father was a pharmacist. Today, Gökhan lives in the Caddebostan area of Istanbul.
Gökhan at Eurovision
Gökhan Özoğuz and his band Athena represented Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004. This big music competition was held in Istanbul that year. Athena performed well and finished in 4th place. They earned 195 points for their country.
Gökhan on TV
Gökhan Özoğuz is also a popular TV personality. He was one of the four judges on O Ses Türkiye. This show is the Turkish version of the famous singing competition The Voice. It aired on the TV8 channel.
