Gökhan Zan (born September 7, 1981) is a Turkish former professional footballer. He played as a centre-back, a defensive position on the field.

Club Career
Gökhan Zan was born in Antakya, Turkey. He began his football journey at the club Hatayspor. He later played for Çanakkale Dardanelspor before making a big move to Beşiktaş, one of Turkey's top teams, in 2003.
It took him some time to become a regular player at Beşiktaş. He was sent on loan to Gaziantepspor for a season. A loan is when a player temporarily plays for a different club. After his loan, he returned to Beşiktaş and became an important part of their team.
Joining Galatasaray
After the 2008–09 season, Zan and Beşiktaş could not agree on a new contract. On June 22, 2009, he decided to join their rival club, Galatasaray. This was a big move in Turkish football. He signed a two-year contract with his new team.
In 2011, Zan signed a new contract with Galatasaray. He scored his first goal for the club in a 1–1 draw against Kayserispor. During the 2011–12 season, he played 12 matches and scored two goals. That year, he helped Galatasaray become the champions of the Turkish league. In 2013, his contract was extended for two more years.
International Career
Zan was a key player for the Turkish national team during their qualifying games for the 2008 European Championship. He played in seven of these important matches.
During the final tournament, he was injured in the first game against Portugal. However, he recovered and played in three more games. His team did very well, reaching the semi-finals and earning a bronze medal. Zan also played in qualifying matches for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
