Gökhan Zan (born September 7, 1981) is a famous Turkish former football player. He used to play as a centre-back, which is a defender who helps protect the goal.

Playing for Clubs
Gökhan Zan was born in Antakya, Turkey. He began his football journey with a team called Hatayspor. Later, he played for Çanakkale Dardanelspor. In 2003, he joined one of Turkey's biggest clubs, Beşiktaş.
He spent some time playing for Gaziantepspor on loan. This means he temporarily played for another team. After this, he returned to Beşiktaş and became an important player there.
Playing for Galatasaray
After the 2008–09 football season, Gökhan Zan left Beşiktaş. On June 22, 2009, he signed a new deal with Galatasaray. He joined them for two years, starting from the 2009–10 season.
On June 27, 2011, Zan signed another contract with Galatasaray. He scored his first goal for the club in the 2010–11 season. This goal helped his team get a 1–1 draw against Kayserispor.
In the 2011–12 season, Zan played 12 matches and scored 2 goals. One goal was in a 2–0 win against Eskişehirspor. The other was in a big 4–0 win against Ankaragücü. He was a key part of the Galatasaray team that won the league championship that season.
In April 2013, his contract was extended for two more years. This meant he would stay with Galatasaray until 2015.
Playing for Turkey
Gökhan Zan also played for the Turkish national team. He was a very important player during their journey to qualify for Euro 2008. He played in seven games for the team, led by coach Fatih Terim.
During the Euro 2008 tournament, Zan played in three matches. He had been injured in the first game against Portugal. He also played in two qualifying matches for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
